Can Any TV Be Wall Mounted?

Can Any TV Be Wall Mounted?

Can any TV be wall mounted? What you need to know!

When you buy a flat panel and lightweight television, you get the option either you can place the TV on the entertainment unit, or you can mount it on the wall. Well, mounting TV means you use brackets to attach the television with the wall. It takes some technical work to make sure that the TV is correctly installed. Just as most TV wall mounts are compatible with drywall, all TVs use a standard mounting pattern, called a VESA pattern. … Basically, it just means that whichever wall mount you choose, it will be easy to attach to your TV.

Most common TV brackets

  • Low-Profile/Flat: Also called a fixed or stationary mount, it is designed to hold TV flat against the wall. Placement can’t be adjusted once mounted and may not be compatible with flat panels TVs that have a rear protrusion.
  • Tilting: Similar to fixed mounts but allow for downward tilting movement and enhances viewing of television mounted high up on the wall. The angle can be adjusted after mounting and locked securely in place.
  • Full Motion: TV mounted on retractable arm attached to wall bracket that allows for wide range of motion. The TV can be pulled away from wall and swivelled to left or right. Perfect for rooms with multiple viewing locations.
  • Ceiling: Attaches to ceiling rather than the wall. It is used when wall-mounting is awkward or impossible, as well as to mount movie projectors

Flat screen TVs have revolutionized TV placement possibilities in schools, homes, offices and many other locations. Slimmer and less heavy than older cathode ray models, they can be mounted on the wall for easy viewing. Wall mounting can save space and streamline interior layouts. This approach also lessens the need for bulky entertainment centers. Because every mounting situation is unique, many different types of TV mount brackets are available. It will be up to the consumer to decide which style is most suitable for their situation.
